David and Adele Gallagher have recently converted their business’ computer system over to the Eulogica Funeral Management Software after being a Dignity Software customer.

With an aim to providing local families of the Keighley area with care and support, David Gallagher Funeral Directors was established in 1993 by David and Adele Gallagher and the support of their own families. In May 2004 the business was relocated to Airedale House, Skipton Road, Utley, Keighley, which gave it the added benefit of a service chapel and car parking facilities. The property underwent a major refurbishment and offers a tastefully decorated Reception Area, Office and Service Chapel, differing somewhat to its previous use as a farmhouse from back in 1820!

David entered into the funeral profession in 1989 and passed the examination set down by the NAFD in 1992. In 1993, at the age of 23, he set up business with his wife Adele, living above their premises in Bradford Road, Keighley. The business proved to be a success and bereaved families were gaining confidence in the service that they were being offered.

David and Adele have recently converted the business’ computer system over to the Eulogica Funeral Management Software after being a Dignity Software customer.

“We had used Dignity Software successfully for some time but in the end we felt we needed to upgrade to a more stable and improved system.”

Adele entered into the business in 1997, sat the examination set by the NAFD and qualified as a Funeral Director in 2000. She continues to carry out the administration that the business requires, arranges funerals and assists with other aspects of the business when required.

“The Eulogica software has definitely improved the running of our business. We have all quickly learnt how to use the system, with the helpful training and everyday use. One of the features we required was the ability to store photographs of existing memorials, which Eulogica can do with ease. This saves us time by automatically including the photograph in our follow-up letters.”

“We have all used the Eulogica support.” says Adele. “We feel that we can call any time and know that our queries will be dealt with by friendly staff who can’t do enough to help. They always solve the problem.”

As with each Eulogica installation, an initial analysis and configuration process was conducted in order to highlight the individual needs of the client so that the system could be successfully integrated into the existing business.

“The analysis and configuration went well - all our requirements were highlighted and then put into place and the initial analysis process has been used successfully to make the system work just how we need it to.”

Once the system was ready, members of the Eulogica team spent time on-site, training Adele and the other staff.

“We found the training to be a great resource and the Eulogica staff were very patient with us whilst we were learning our way around the system.” Adele continues “We like to keep up to date with technology, which is why we chose Dignity in the first place. Eulogica is a logical step forward. Our clients receive professional correspondence from us, as do our other contacts – ministers always compliment us on our efficiency to confirm all arrangements with them. The day to day running of the business is smoother and easier knowing that Eulogica can help us in this way. We also feel secure in the knowledge that we can pick up the phone at any time for support and solutions.”
